The mission of the Lake City Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history of Lake City, Minnesota. Lake City is located along the Mississippi River at Lake Pepin and is the birthplace of water skiing. The Lake City Historical Society maintains a collection of artifacts, documents and photographs, and has exhibit cases in the historic hall (ballroom) on the second floor of City Hall. For the Minnesota Digital Library, the society contributed audio recordings of oral history interviews and presentations.
