Call for Minnesota Digital Library Projects and Application Forms: Phase 20

The Minnesota Digital Library (MDL) is accepting applications for Phase 20. Here is the full call for projects and application form.

In Phase 20, we are seeking submissions related to two important anniversaries. First, we are looking for content connected to the 250th anniversary of the United States, which is coming up in 2026. This content can fall within the five themes articulated by the American Association for State and Local History, or be related to past celebrations of the centennial (1876), sesquicentennial (1926), or bicentennial (1976).

Second, the Minnesota Digital Library will be celebrating its twentieth anniversary in 2025. We would like to reconnect with our early contributors, so please consider doing a project with us this year or next if your organization is in this group.

We are still accepting projects on general Minnesota content as well, so even if you do not have materials related to these anniversaries, please feel free to submit a proposal. Our list of general Minnesota-based topic areas for projects is listed fully in the call. Types of materials accepted include images, documents, books, maps, audio recordings, and films. Contact MDL Outreach Coordinator Molly Huber with any questions or to discuss a potential project at mollyh@umn.edu or 612-301-1329 / 800-462-5348.

Museums, libraries, archives, historical societies, and other non-profit organizations and governmental agencies are eligible to submit project applications to the MDL. If your project is approved we will cover the costs associated with the digitization. We also accept materials previously digitized by your organization. Please contact Molly Huber for more information.

The MDL will accept Phase 20 applications until May 24, 2024 or until the money for this phase is fully allocated. We look forward to hearing from you!
