Westonka Historical Society

The Westonka Historical Society, located on the northwest bank of Lake Minnetonka in western Hennepin County, Minnesota began meeting in 1967. We are committed to preserving records, gathering artifacts, and making our history accessible. WHS supports research on Tonka Toys, Inc., which began in 1947 in Mound, Minnesota; on the Andrews Sisters, who summered at Lake Minnetonka; and on the glory days of tourists visiting the large hotels on the Upper Lake from the 1880s to the1930s. Images in Minnesota Reflections include a selection from our extensive postcard collection and maps, photos of the Tonka Toy factory, and two Native American watercolors.
