Applications are now open for projects for Phase 6 (May 26, 2009–March 26, 2010) of the development of Minnesota Reflections, our digitization and database project. Projects may be designed so that the MDL does the digitization work, in which case we spend our grant dollars to have one of our centers do the work, or they may be projects to contribute collections that organizations have had digitized to MDL standards.
Consult with Marian Rengel, MDL Outreach Coordinator, as you begin considering an application for a digitization project for Minnesota Reflections. She will answer questions on all aspects of digitization projects with the Minnesota Digital Library.
Submit applications early in the scanning year. Once we have accepted your application, we can schedule digitizing at a time convenient to you and our scanning centers. We can also arrange schedules to give you time to complete the metadata portion of the project once we have finished the digitizing.
We accept applications until we have committed all of our digitization funding. Our final deadline is March 26, 2010.
Digitization funds for Phase 6 come from a Library Services and Technology Act Grant from State Library Services, a unit of the Minnesota Department of Education.
