Pachyderm allows the creation of web-based and multimedia learning experiences by educators with limited technical skills.
During the last two years, we have supported the creation of teacher resources, which focus on the digital objects in Minnesota Reflections, using Pachyderm, a browser-based authoring tool. Pachyderm allows the creation of web-based and multimedia learning experiences by educators with limited technical skills. Learning materials created with Pachyderm are optimized for web, CD-ROM or desktop delivery.
We are now working on a project to train teachers to use Pachyderm, to create their own teaching resources. This project will use resources from the MDL's Minnesota Reflections database of more than 20,000 copies of the state's historical resources.
Teachers selected to participate in the pilot program will gain an understanding of the scope of the resources within Minnesota Reflections and learn to prepare media and develop a multimedia program using Pachyderm.
We will work with participating teachers to publish and promote the projects they produce in this program.
