10: Helpful Tips (optional)

Zoomed in if projecting to a whole class. Also, if you do a "tax" search in "search this object" it will highlight in red all the pages that have the word "tax".

11: Ideas for Lesson Plans Using this Guide (optional)

The reading will probably be difficult for students to understand/interpret. It might be best as a whole group activity, one where the images can be projected to the whole class. Additionally, this a good activity to use once taxes have already been discussed in class, so that students have a basic understanding of how taxes can be utilized. If you do have students reading them, it might be worthwhile to have them do a search of "weird tax laws" to compare with the laws of 1849 in Minnesota.
